Fictional Character
I'm the business partner of Emma O'Connal. We founded Sheridan Walker together. Having made a lot of money, Emma decided to buy an estate in the same village as my ancestral home, Sheridan Grange. Despite her dislike of romance, I thought it was just a matter of time before she became Mrs Sheridan.
When she hired an Irish trainer of some repute to train horses on her estate, I didn't think he was any threat. Emma and I had the business, similar views and equal bank balances. Rory was a nice bloke. Most of Woodhollow took it for granted she'd marry me.
Things changed and Emma fell in love with the Irishman. It was only when I saw them together as an acknowledged couple that I knew I had never had anything like the love he had for her. I loved what she was in my head, the ideal wife I thought I could teach her to be. Rory had seen and loved a wilder and stranger Emma. I would have clipped her wings, he just celebrated her flight. When a childhood sweetheart came into my life again, I found in her a deeper and more serious love than my infatuation with beguiling Emma Walker. I married Cassia Hamilton in 1998 and left Rory to try to win Emma.
Cassia and I have children now. James will be six in September, Victoria will be four in August, Stephanie will be three in October and Emma will be a year old at the end of May. Yes, Emma. Just because I didn't marry her, it doesn't mean she's instantly forgettable. She remains a good friend and a fascinating woman. Nevertheless, I'm glad I never married her. Cassia is my soulmate.
